Week 15: One to Ones &
Getting Ready for Work and Your Next Levels of learning
One to Ones continued
It is really important that in the first three weeks of Term 2 that all personal tutors make time within classes for a one to one catch up with all learners. This one to one should cover:

Grades and information from the December reports
-
Progress being made
-
Targets to help learning move forward and to keep you motivated to achieve and get the best possible results.
Whilst undertaking one to ones all learners can follow the work below
It's a New Year and a great time to start thinking about your next steps.
A good first step to way to getting a job is to have any type work experience. This could be unpaid or a part time job.
1. Do you know your skills?
You can probably do much more than you think!
-
Make a simple list of the things you do often: hobbies, interests, college courses etc.
2. Discuss as a group experience of work that you've done already:
-
What skills do you think that you developed from this work?
3. Discuss what skills you will need for your next steps
-
Many jobs and Level 2 courses need people with good communication skills. They also need you to work out problems and use numbers. You may well have to work in a team.
-
All courses and jobs need people who are:
-
reliable,
-
punctual,
