Bubble couch

 

Equipment:

scissors

sellotape

balloons per group

 

 

The task:

 

To build a ‘bubble couch’ on which a member of your team will rest, with their body fully supported off the floor, for a period of 30 seconds.

 

Please read the rules before starting.

 

    You can only use the materials provided

 

    Each team member must participate in only one of the following roles:

• Inflating balloons

• Construction

 

    Everyone in the team is allowed to do any other activity – cut tape, tie balloons etc

 

    Your couch must be freestanding and not supported by walls, objects or persons

 

    The couch must have a headrest and arm rests

 

    When resting on the couch, no part of the member’s body may touch anything except the balloons

 

Before touching any of the materials (25 balloons, tape and scissors) you must submit to the facilitator a plan of how you intend to construct your couch and who will perform specified roles.

 

If a rule is broken, the facilitator will burst one of your balloons.  If a balloon breaks/bursts during construction the facilitator will provide a replacement.
